My name is Lisa Jablow. I have a doctorate in music performance and have balanced a teaching career with professional performance as a classical singer and conductor. I am an experienced writer, having published a number of featured articles in the Playbills of the Metropolitan Opera, New York City Opera, and Carnegie Hall, as well as countless program notes, liner notes, and LTEs. For over 15 years I have developed my proofreading “chops” as a supertitle operator/editor (supertitles are the operatic equivalent of subtitles in a foreign film). Currently, I am working in the titles department of the Metropolitan Opera.
After spending a number of years as the president, founding, and sole member of the ASPAA (the American Society for the Prevention of Apostrophe Abuse) and cultivating a strong desire to set my own schedule, I decided to become a professional proofreader. It is a great feeling to use something that I truly enjoy doing to help others.
